My Story

I was born and raised in the Midwest, where my early passion for design took root.  I pursued my love for creativity and aesthetics by attending Ashland University, where I earned a degree in Interior Design. With over 30 years of experience in the field, I have had the privilege of working on a diverse array of projects, including residential, commercial, luxury RV design, and remodeling. My goal has always been to create spaces that are not only beautiful but also functional and tailored to the unique needs of each client. I am dedicated to bringing my clients' visions to life through thoughtful design and meticulous attention to detail.

I started my career at a high-end furniture company, where I collaborated with a diverse range of clients, including homeowners and corporate entities.  My role involved evaluating space requirements, incorporating client preferences, and creating personalized design concepts.  This included developing initial sketches, selecting colors, and themes, and crafting tailored solutions.  During my five years there, I consistently ranked as a top performer.

I then transitioned to starting my own independent company, which I successfully ran for 12 years. During this time, I worked in both residential and commercial sectors, conducting on-site analysis of space availability and design requirements while seamlessly incorporating client preferences into customized design concepts. I developed initial designs, including sketches, color schemes, themes, and ideas tailored to specific needs and spatial constraints.  My expertise extended to areas such as color coordination, furniture selection, lighting design, flooring, cabinetry, and more.  I advised local builders on renovating historic commercial buildings, contributing to preservation and modernization efforts, and was a featured designer on multiple model homes and Parade of Homes showcases, highlighting residential design expertise.

My next chapter was with Newmar Corporation, a luxury RV company, where I spent 17 years honing my expertise.  During the last three years, after relocating to Fort Myers Beach, I worked remotely for two weeks each month and traveled back to Indiana for the remainder.  Part of my job involved traveling to design shows across the country to discover innovative and unique design trends. I oversaw all aspects of planning, budgeting, and execution for interior design projects within the luxury motorhome sector.  I led and mentored the interior design team, guiding creative processes to ensure exceptional results. I was responsible for selecting and specifying decorative elements for motorhomes while adhering to brand and budget constraints. Annually providing over 50 unique decors encompassing 13 brands, I collaborated with cross-functional teams,  including the Engineering, Purchasing, and Costing departments to deliver innovative solutions.

Additionally, I worked closely with vendors to develop custom products tailored to Newmar’s needs.

During my time at Newmar, I was honored with a grant award for outstanding service and design contributions to the RV industry.  Many of my designs were featured on the Travel Channel’s Extreme RV, highlighting our high-end motorhome designs.  I presented design trend seminars at various industry events, sharing expertise and insights with diverse audiences.  I also received the Legendary Design Award for my instrumental role in creating designs that significantly enhanced Newmar’s market presence.

Before deciding to return to independent work, I spent some time at Interiors Unlimited on Fort Myers Beach as the Operations Manager and Lead Designer, a newly created position.  My role focused on supporting the company’s growth by overseeing daily operations, and ensuring projects were completed on time, within budget, and to the highest level of client satisfaction. I also established new vendor relationships and set up additional accounts to expand sourcing options for clients.  Additionally, I implemented streamlined workflows and processes to enhance efficiency and foster stronger team collaboration.

In 2013, my husband and I bought property on Fort Myers Beach, and by 2020, we had relocated here full-time. The beach and close-knit, small-town community have captured my heart and keep me anchored here. I am dedicated to helping clients in Southwest Florida turn their houses into homes with their style and feel.
